2009 The venue for the next reunion will be the Allesley Hotel which is situated in the The Hotels website is www.crimsonhotels.co.uk/uk/allesley_coventry/ where directions to, and further details of the Hotel can be found. There is ample parking for those attending by car. The date we have chosen is Saturday June 6th, this date has been chosen to avoid the 2 Bank Holidays in May. There have been a number of requests for the reunion to take the form of a dinner dance as apparently some of the ladies do not appreciate “sitting round with a lot of old farts talking about old times” as my lady wife puts it. Yes, she has received a good thrashing for this insult. I am now living in the cellar and its cold, very cold in here. On the next page of the website headed 2009 Book Now, you will find a form which we would ask you to complete as soon as possible, Note:- you have to untick all the boxes and then tick the options you require. There is also a box where you can state your preference for a dinner only or a dinner dance. After you have made your choices all you have to do is click on “Submit” to send your form to us. The Hotel only has a total of 75 suites, ( 69 Booked and Paid for so Far [August 1st])and, as we now have over 200 active members, we would ask that you reserve your suite as soon as possible. You can do this by going to the web site shop page where you can pay £10 per head through PayPal to secure your booking. First come first served. The balance will be paid direct to the Hotel on Checking out. We have managed to secure a big reduction on the normal room charge; note, the prices are per person, when two people are sharing a room it is £30 per night including breakfast. For single occupancy the price is £40 per room per night including breakfast. The Banquet will be held in the Royal Suite which is a very superior room compared to the past venue. The Banquet menu has by popular choice will be in the form of a carvery, menu attached HMS Dreadnought Association 2009 Menu Soup tureen ( Choice of 3 Soups) Mixed Hors d’oeurves ***** Roast rib of beef, Yorkshire pudding Roast loin of pork, apple & sage sauce Supreme of salmon, chive sauce Vegetables and potatoes **** A Selection of one hot and two cold desserts **** Coffee and Tea with Mints Price £20 per head inclusive.
